The third Curious Expedition 2 DLC titled Robots of Lux is now available on PC and consoles!

This one is quite special, as it features a crossover with a game we love made by another developer: SteamWorld Heist by Image & Form Games.

The Robots of Lux DLC features 2 new expedition leaders: Piper Faraday from SteamWorld Heist and the Naturalist, who can tame almost any animal in the game, including the Giant Crab! Both leaders come with new recruitable companions.

The DLC also includes a new Paris location: the Old Theatre, where you can freeze a character for later use and shop for robotic team members and equipment. To celebrate the occasion we introduced a bunch of cool bundles on selected platforms so you can complete your collection and save money.

At this stage we don't have any major additional content updates planned, we feel the game has plenty to offer, more than we could imagine when we first started the production in 2019. That being said, there might still be some exciting things coming up such as merchandise and physical editions — keep an eye on our social media channels and the newsletter for updates.

One month after releasing on PC, the Curious Expedition 2 Shores of Taishi DLC is also now available on Switch, Playstation and Xbox!

The DLC features a brand new island type (the Celestial Shores) with new tile types, items, locations, enemies and recruitable characters such as Red Panda, Tanuki, Ghost Catcher and the Peacock tribe.

We have one more Curious Expedition 2 DLC coming out this year, it will be different from the previous two, expect some surprises...

Lots of things going on at Maschinen-Mensch right now, get ready for a big news update...

First of all, Curious Expedition 1 & its artbook are part of the Itch Bundle for Ukraine, alongside hundreds of other excellent games such as Cloud Gardens, Baba is You, A Short Hike, Promesa, Kids, Minit, TowerFall Ascension, Hidden Folks, just to name some of our favourites. All money collected goes to charity and at the time of writing more than $3.5 million have already been raised. The bundle is time limited, so don't wait.

More than a year after the 1.0 release, there's still more to come for Curious Expedition 2. We just added support for 3 new languages (Spanish, Russian, Traditional Chinese) and the soundtrack has finally been released. It features 12 full length tracks for over 1 hour of music. It was made using acoustic instruments only and composed by Selbstserum, who was also responsible for the soundtrack of the first Curious Expedition. You can get it on Steam (also has part of a game + soundtrack bundle) or on Bandcamp. It's really good, not much else to say.

We finally have a release date for the Playstation and Xbox release of the game: Thursday, March 17th. The Highlands of Avalon DLC will also be released on the same day for all console platforms, including Switch.

What's next for Curious Expedition 2? Well, we have 2 more DLCs coming in 2022! We don't want to reveal too much about their content at this stage, but if you watch the soundtrack snippets video you can get a small preview of some of the upcoming characters:

Last but not least, our studio is growing! At the start of this month we welcomed 2 new team members (we're going to tell you more about them in a future update) and we're still looking for a Generalist Programmer (Remote). They will be working on our next unannounced game. Only thing we're going to say about it for now: it's not Curious Expedition 3, expect something different this time...

Curious Expedition 2: Highlands of Avalon DLC is out now!

The DLC features a brand new island type (the Highlands) with new tile types, items, locations, enemies, recruitable characters and more. Once the DLC is activated it will expand possibilities across the entire game, both in Campaign Mode and Director Mode.

This is the first in a series of paid DLCs that will be released in the upcoming months. That being said, we are still planning to release free updates for the game in the future: there will be an Endless Mode option coming very soon, many of you have been asking for that. Additionally, the game is currently being localised into Spanish, Russian and Traditional Chinese.

The Highlands of Avalon DLC is available on Steam only at the moment but it will come to Switch early next year, together with the release of the main game on Xbox and Playstation.

Curious Expedition 2 is out now on Nintendo Switch! We were truly honoured to announce the suprise release during Nintendo's official Indie World showcase stream today.

This release features all the content published on PC so far. The game is also coming to Xbox and Playstation soon.

One more thing: we're hiring! We're currently looking for a Producer to help us with the next content updates for Curious Expedition 2 and to work on some announced projects.

Curious Expedition 2: "The New Director" FREE DLC is out now!

Today we released the first major content update since the 1.0 launch last January. It features a new game mode and plenty of new content and it's FREE, so make sure to check it out on Steam.

The game is going to be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox platforms later in 2021 and it will include this update as well.
